Low Calorie Doggie Carrot Treats

1c. shredded carrots

¼ c. unsweetened apple juice

1 med. Ripened banana

1/8 c. water (add more if needed)

1c. rolled oats

1 1/2c. whole wheat flour

Set your oven to 350 degrees and preheat, lightly coat baking sheet using nonstick spray.

In a medium size bowl add your banana and mash it. Add the shredded carrots and mix well. Add apple juice and water to carrot mixture along with flour and oats. Mix everything together until thoroughly combined. Use your hands to knead until a dough forms.

Sprinkle some flour on a work surface and place your dough on it. Take a rolling pin and roll the dough to a half inch thickness. Using a cookie cutter cut out fun shapes about 3 inches. Lay treats onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes.

If you want to make a crunchier treat turn off the oven and let the treats cool in the oven overnight. Recipe makes about 24 pieces. Keep in airtight storage. Can be kept in the refrigerator up to 3 weeks and the freezer 6 months.

Your dog is going to love these healthy homemade treats while trimming down the waistline.
